JUSTIFIED: Concealed Carrier Takes Down Armed Robber in New Orleans T-Mobile Store

A man who was killed in New Orleans on Friday, February 10 is now said to be a suspected armed robber who was fatally shot by a concealed carrying customer inside a T-Mobile store, New Orleans Police have said.

Police Superintendent Michael Harrison said the suspected robber was pronounced dead at the scene inside the T-Mobile store in the 500 block of St. Andrew Street. The armed customer who shot him was in police custody, Harrison said, and investigators were examining the incident to determine if the customer will face charges. However, in later statements by the police, there will be no charges filed against the shooter.

Around 8 p.m., Ed Marrero stood near the crime-scene tape, watching his son, who works at the T-Mobile store, talk with investigators. Marrero said he was eating dinner earlier when his son called to tell him about the robbery.

Marrero said his son was working when a man came into the store and pulled a gun, telling everyone to get into a back room in the store and open the store’s safe.

The would-be robber was reaching into the safe when a customer shot him multiple times, Marrero said.
